About Us
President's Message
Welcome to the Cobble Hill Farmers Institute website. We invite you to explore our website to get a sense of who we are and what we value as part of the South Cowichan community.
As you browse through our website you will see we host many events and support several groups that help to make our community such a great place to live.
We are all facing challenges in these past years due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, at the Farmers Institute we adapted to these challenges as an organization and worked on new ways to conduct our business. We are relieved to now return to what is a now normal for our community and our friends and neighbours.
Before getting into the future, I would like to take a moment to thank all the volunteers and helpers over the past year that have contributed to the success of our Society and to the community as a whole. I am most grateful to those who helped support the numerous Cobble Hill events, groups and activities. It was truly a banner year. As we move into the future and its challenges we will be considering how we can continue to support the various organizations we have worked with including 4-H Clubs and South Cowichan Seniors. We are so pleased to see events like Seedy Saturday, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Halloween Bonfire, the Cobble Hill Fair and Remembrance Day Services return and can be staged while keeping us safe and secure.
The Cobble Hill Fair will be held on Saturday, August 24th this year and planning is already underway for this event to ensure the day is fun and safe for those who attend. Also be sure to take in the 4rd Annual Show and Shine at the Cobble Hill Hall being held on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Our Farmers Institute has served Cobble Hill and the South Cowichan community for more than a century. All of the work we do is for the community. We have no employees... we are a volunteer organization and we welcome your help and support.
Thank you,
Roger Painter, President
