Next Fair
August 24, 2019

VolunteerVolunteering can bring a welcome addition to one's daily routine. It gives people an opportunity to meet new friends and try new things. The experience can be fun, challenging and rewarding. Importantly, volunteerism provides a chance for you to give back to community you live in.

The Farmers Institute at Cobble Hill is an organization comprised of volunteers from all walks of life. We count ourselves fortunate to live in an area where volunteerism is such an integral part of our makeup. Volunteers help stage a variety of events throughout the year but at the Farmers Institute we put on our Valentine Tea, Easter Egg Hunt, Seedy Saturday, South Cowichan Seniors, the Haunted Barns along with hosting the Annual Cobble Hill Fair. We are very proud of the Fair, which was first held on October 6, 1909 and is now 105 years old.

In 2014 we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Farmers Institute at Cobble Hill, and we welcome your participation in this stalwart community organization. Although our name holds historic recognition of an association formed 100 years ago, we represent so much more than just farming today. Family, friends and community are important components of our society.

We are always looking for volunteers to help. If you want a rewarding experience and have a few hours to spare please contact our Secretary at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or fill out and submit our online volunteer registration form.
