Volunteering can bring a welcome addition to one's daily routine. It gives people an opportunity to meet new friends and try new things. The experience can be fun, challenging and rewarding. Importantly, volunteerism provides a chance for you to give back to the community you live in.
The Farmers Institute at Cobble Hill is an organization comprised of volunteers from all walks of life. We count ourselves fortunate to live in an area where volunteerism is such an integral part of our makeup. Volunteers help stage a variety of events throughout the year but at the Farmers Institute we put on our Seedy Saturday, the Easter Egg Hunt, the South Cowichan Seniors Luncheons, the Halloween Bonfire along with hosting the Annual Cobble Hill Fair. We are very proud of the Fair, which was first held on October 6, 1909!
In 2014 we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Farmers Institute at Cobble Hill. As we enter our second century, we welcome your participation in this stalwart community organization. Although our name holds historic recognition of an association formed more than 100 years ago, we represent so much more than just farming and agriculture today. Family, friends and community are important components of our society.
We are always looking for volunteers to help.
If you want a rewarding experience and have a few hours to spare please fill out and submit our online volunteer registration form.
Thank you.
